Group Name: Tremendoulicious.

The name tremendoulicious is taken from the word tremendous which means great, incredible, awesome etc. It took a while for us to name our group because we want it to be something great with our website outcome later. After discuss with the others, we all agree to name it tremendoulicious.

How did you choose your group member and group leader?

After that, Dr Mai asked us to pick a group leader in a group to monitor our work performance throughout the project. We chose Zulkarnain as a group leader because he is the oldest among all of us, and he was once a group leader before in other subject. So, he has the experience of being a leader.

Topic of Project

Since the online magazine is the avant-garde towards trendy lifestyle which focus more starting from the age 21 to 35 years old, so we decided to choose Music as our topic for the online magazine project. Why do we choose Music in the first place is because at the age 21 to 35, people at certain level are looking and searching for the newest trend and music. So, since music have been a great impact in the world today by so many genres introduced by the artist nowadays, it could be a great topic for our project by giving the latest news about the artist, let the world know who is artist of the month and so on.

Concept/Theme of Project

Our concept or theme for our project is the latest trend music. So, we narrow it down and focus more on Music and Pop Culture. We choose Lady Gaga as our pop icon for this project. She have been a big impact in the music industry and brought changes in the pop music. Not only that, by giving updates on the latest music trend, it will attract the readers attention to browse through.

1) We discuss about changing the name of the magazine, STAIRCASE to a better name that will be able to enter the market demands for buyer to buy.

2) The new name for the magazine is LA'VIE which means 'LIFE' in french.

3) The slogan, elegant is too classical and oldies, so we discuss on a new slogan which is avant garde.

2nd Meeting Minutes

1) We decided what are we going to do for our main page and we came up into 5 major division on 1 artist.In a way, we narrow it from many artist all around the world to 1 artist of the month of our choice for the magazine. 

2) We also divided each topic to each member to do on their progress later in flash.

3) Our group have came up with 2 ideas :

         i) Artist of the month

        ii) Most general to all artists

4) So, we have arrived at a conclusion that we are going to choose the first idea, which is Artist of the month.

Blog progress

Our blog is create by Maslina. First ,we had a meeting and discuss what theme we should use in our blog. Because we are producing the POP Music, so we decided to use the soft colour and classical design in our blog.

Our blog first post was the minutes. That is our group first meeting minutes which in 9^th of July. In this meeting we discuss about the idea of our magazine. The two following posts were our second and third meeting minutes also .In this two meeting we are continue discussing the detail of our idea and ready start to work out the main page. We choose the POP music to be our group content. We had think out the idea of  Artist of the Month. And we also divided our page into 5 part. Which is Lady GaGa ,Glee, News and Gossips, Pop History and Zee Avi. Each group member will take part a part of it.

After the minutes is our individual task .So every members  posted the introduce of their part .We also posted the design and idea of our individual page after the 4^th meeting. And the design of our main page also posted out after the group members design and draw it together.

The second individual task are posted after we done and confirm our main page and individual page layout. The posts were presented the detail of  individual page .Each member had wrote out the content of the page .

After we done the web magazine design, we also posted the journal reflection of every members. The last post is the report of our project.

Milestones achieved

At start, after we discussing we had choose the music to be our magazine content. And we found out there were many type of music in this world. So we had choose the POP music because we both like POP music. We had a idea to focus on a POP singer to be our Artist if the Month.So we had choose Lady GaGa because she is one of the superstar  singer in POP music.

After this, we start to divided our page into five part which is Lady GaGa , Glee, News and Gossips, Pop History and Zee Avi. So that each member can take part of one title. And we also started think out the idea and design of our main page and theme.

We sketch out of the layout of our main page and go to the lab do the design together. But we adjust the design of the main page after we got consult from our lecture assistants. Because the layout of our first design was not fit with the wed page size.

After the main page was our individual page. We had set the theme to same and only the colour was different between our single pages. Every design of our button  also same and only the colour were different.

When we start to design and insert the content into flash, we decided to use the ActionScript 3.0 which is more complicated than older version. So we were failed to link up our page to the main page. After discussing, we decided redo the flash and change it to ActionScript 2.0 version. So finally we had link up all the page successfully and start doing the report.

For our music section, we decided to have six pages that linked to the main mage. We decided what are we going to do for our main page and we came up into 5 major division on 1 artist. Assignment 2 by Zulkarnain

For Assignment 2 we were required to do a webpage with animation with our own profile to be display.
Below is the front page of my simple web page. I'm still not good in designing Adobe Flash and there are some problems with the page.

I've make a simple banner of my name and my group name and the words will move from left and right respectively. I've also put 3 buttons that will link to 3 pages. If the button Home is click, it will go to the front page :D

When the button My Profile is click, it will go the second page of My Profile.
In that page got some of my details and my pictures. I've also add the back button that will go back to the front page.

When the last button, My Works is click, it will go to the last page of My Works.
In the page, there are pictures of my past work in subject of Computer Graphic 1 and Computer Graphic 2.

If the button previous or next is click, it will display a few of my works and the button back was insert too to go back to the front page.

It is a simple web page ^_^

Assignment 1 by Zulkarnain

First, I start drawing the cartoon head, face, mouth, nose, ear, eye and other on the head parts with different layers that fills with colors.

Second, make the body, legs, neck and part of hands that fills with some color.

Third, I make right and left hand. The right hand is holding tooth paste. The character will be brushing his tooth.

Then, I draw a spider that will coming from above while the character brushing his tooth.

After that, I put a background to look more colorful.

This is the process of brushing tooth. The hand is moving toward the face and his eye is closing because still sleepy :D

Finally, the last part is the character is surprise with spider in front of him.

Journal reflections by Zulkarnain

I learned to design the flash webpage of  our project step by step although it is difficult at first but then it become a little bit easier when referring the tutorials in Youtube.com. Now to me, designing using Adobe Flash is not an easy thing to do but it is not hard either. I manage design a few versions of the webpage until finally got a better one that match with the others webpage. I add the La Vie page, the links between pages, corrected some errors and videos and also add music in the main page beside everything in my Zee Avi pages. 

How is your understanding of the topic after doing the project? Understanding about interactive multimedia?

At first I only have a little understanding about Interactive Multimedia subject and Adobe Flash. In the end, it become more clear and understandable about the needs of interactive multimedia and using Adobe Flash although I’m still not good enough at it.

What were the problems faced since Proposal 2? How did you/your team solve your group problems?

The problem I facing are the communication between my groupmates as we all never been in the same team before and problems in making the sketch of our front page and our own pages. We try to solve all the problems by discussing with each other and do it step by step.

What would you do differently next time?

I will make a better flash webpage next time since I’ve already learn the basic in Adobe Flash and I will plan it better  in management part and designing part.

How is your motivation level?

My motivation level is high when our group members meet up and discuss about our project and progresses. Overall it is at average level.

How was working with your group / group leader?

Working with people you never work with is always a new experience to me, same thing with my group members this time. Sometimes it can be hard in communication but we are learning from it to make it easier.

How was it working on the project?

Working on the project was really hard in the beginning as we all still learning to use the Flash software, through the middle way is consider average as we still developing and in the end is not hard as we already decided on everything that need to be done  after we all synchronize our work together.

Update on what you have been writing previously

When using the Actionscript 2.0 in Adobe Flash, it become more easier. We all synchronize our buttons and font design so it will look nicer together. I found that designing the Flash application is not that hard when there are tutorials in the Internet although it takes much time to learn it.

How were your teammates/Group leader?

Each of our teammates are cooperative, gave lot of ideas, help each other when needed and they committed to the project until the end. They are great team members to me.

Personal evaluation of your own effort and that of your team

I have given a lot of my time and in completing this project because this subject is 6 credit hours and if I get grade lower than B, it will definitely affect my CGPA. My other group members also doing their best in completing the project and targeting to get an A for this subject as they try hard to complete the project. Honestly, I think I am not a good leader when I not familiar with the project I am handling and the person I never work with and maybe I even disappointed them during the completion of our project.

Individual Task by Zulkarnain

Finally after our presentation, we decided that all of our pages need to be synchronize. We decided to use actionscript 2.0 since it is more easier to do. We used the scene application for each pages and to link between pages we used gotoAndStop coding. From the our main page, when u click top right, it will go the the La Vie page and when u click it back to the music button, it will go back to our main page like in the pictures below. We have add the play and stop buttons plus with the volume slider so when click the play button, it will play Lady Gaga song.Click the stop button to stop it or change the volume because the song is a bit loud. ^_^

I've added the home button to link to our music pages, change all the other buttons and make it change color when mouse-over or mouse-clicked. I've change the font button to broadway type same as my group members' page. Below is the picture of latest front page of my work. I have also add the play and stop buttons with volume slider. the song only play when click the play button. :)

For the biodata of Zee Avi, when click the zee avi button on the left side, it will go the another page and display Zee Avi's details. I've put a picture of Zee Avi at the right side and some information of Zee Avi beside the picture as seen below.

The photo page for are just simple with Zee Avi's pictures changing when you click the next or previous buttons.

Lastly, I put videos of Zee Avi with clickable buttons for each videos.

Individual Task by Zulkarnain

Below is the thirt version of Asian Pride : Zee Avi's front page.
The theme color is pink and I customized a few background picture so it look not too plain.

After that change the theme color into green because one of my groupmate is already using pink color. Then I change the buttons also to make it look more nice. I remove and add one of the buttons and also change the background color into white to make more interesting.

After our group meeting, we all have been assigned to our own task in Music section.

My task is all about local talent, the Asian Pride - Zee Avi.

My groupmates and I have decided that Zee Avi be the local artist for the La Vie magazine because she was first been discovered on Youtube before become a famous singer-songwriter.

I will cover about Zee Avi's biography, achievements, her latest news and some from the interviews on the Asian Pride of Music section in La Vie magazine. ^_^
